The Maldives conjures images of crystal clear beaches, turquoise colored water, reef-ringed atolls and the amazingly luxurious resorts on the water. Maldives is considered as the most sophisticated tropical island. Its pristine white beaches and gorgeous underwater has made it one of the most visited tourist destinations. Over the period of time Maldives has been called as underwater aquarium as it has such a coral filled reefs and its joyous serenity has only made tourist merely attracted to its beauty!
I along with a few of wedding industry mates had a delightful chance to visit this stunning island for five days, and here i’d like to be extremely thankful to Arati Thapa of WEDDING FABELS who had organised this lavish trip for us eight.
The trip started feeling absolute unreal once we boarded SRI LANKAN AIRLINES, the very courteous staff made sure our flight from Colombo to Male was something that struck a cord with us. They helped us with window seats to make sure we didn’t miss any opportunity to appreciate the beginning of our luxurious trip. We have some insanely striking images in our heads from hundreds of feet above!
We were received by the ANANTARA RESORT with happy faces and most warm smiles. To our biggest surprise was when we were chauffeured in a sea plane to our resort, It made our Maldivian experience a notch higher already.
Our first destination was Anantara Kihavah Villas, and here on wards we were being pampered like royals. We had our individual luxury villa with a view to the beach and not to forget our own private pool ( which had glass bottom) and if this wasn’t just enough yet we had very own villa host.
After a sumptuous meal we were booked for just the thing that we needed the most, Anantara signature SPA. Oh it relaxed us for a beautiful starry evening. Away from the hustle bustle and away from all the pollution we had deep blue endless sky above us and an endless ocean in front of us, we laid there star gazing and that was one astonishing experience.
The next two days we were destined to spend at Anantra Veli, having it own joyous charm and vibe it let us completely unwind ourselves. We had a great opportunity to have a master chef class and learn the Maldivian cuisine at Anantara Dhigu. We spent the entire day just lazing around snorkeling and scuba diving. And the last dinner was hosted at a nearby , a quick ride on the pontoon- Anantara Naladhu.
Being a Photographer it was such a pleasant sight to have white sand under your feet and clear blue sky above you, it was simply picture perfect. Maldives is a perfect place for destination beach weddings, a private affair with your loved ones on this charismatic island is definitely a must to do thing !
The morning when we were set to leave this irresistible island (of course only physically, mentally we just weren’t ready yet) the Anantara Resort had hosted another heart pounding farewell for us. We had a private yacht waiting to depart us with yummilicious breakfast. That was one hell of a goodbye to the island.
